Human History - All I know is heroes come and villains go...

Gir was born in September of 1189. Her parents, whose names she can no longer recall named her Evalin. Evalin loved her family, and the small village she lived her life in. Everyone loved her, she had always been a charasmatic person. She lived happily in a poor family until she reached the age of fourteen - that's when the tale turns sour.

She was stolen from her bed one night by a man who called himself Jareth. Jareth was an evil man, and forced Evalin into a dungeon, where he kept her malnourished for weeks giving her barely enough to survive on. One day, she could no longer remember where she was, or even who she was, Jareth released her from her cell, only to force her into servitude. She was to be Jareth's personal toy, doing whatever he bid.

Evalin noticed something extremely peculiar about Jareth, he only came out at night, and he never ate food. He would sit at the table and drink mysterious red fluid from a goblet and gaze at his empty plate.

One evening, while Evalin was set about her chores, she began to sing - seeing it as a way to pass the time, until Jareth heard her. That night Evalin recieved her first beating - yelling over and over again that noise would not get the work done. It continued on for ages like that, Evalin would sing, Jareth would beat her, but she never gave up on it. After a few months, guests of the house would tell Jareth how lovely Evalin's voice was. Jareth, seeing this as an opportunity to impress his friends, started having Evalin perform at the grand parties he would throw every now and again. And Evalin was finally happy with her new life, she loved to sing.

She and Jareth coexisted happily for a while, until one cold winters night when Jareth decided that he didn't want to go his usual evening walk - at the time Evalin didn't realize that he only went all these walks to hunt. That evening, Jareth summoned Evalin to her chambers, and they chatted pleasantly for a while. Evalin was extremely nervous, they never sat and talked quietly. Something was very wrong, Jareth kept staring at her throat and licking his lips. Evalin decided to question him on it, in response, he leapt over the table and sank his fangs into her neck. "OH NO!" was Evalin's only thought.  She screamed and tried to push at him, but he held her fast, and soon Evalin began to grow weaker, and weaker until she could no longer support her own weight. She sank to her knees before Jareth dropped her to the floor.

He allowed her to lay there, half dead for quite some time before he took pity and carried her off to a bed, presumably to die. Evalin wasn't about to give up that easily though - after all, she had survived  merciless beatings. After a few days of laying in that bloody, sweat covered bed, Evalin pulled herself up and went off in search of Jareth. She planned to confront him, find out what he really was, and more importantly assure herself that she wasn't crazy and that he was some sort of blood-sucking demon from Hell. She searched his entire dwelling, but could not find him anywhere.  Evalin grew frantic, afraid of what might have happened. She kept searching until she found him out in the forest surrounding the manor. She had caught him during a feeding and as she called out his name he dropped his prey and lauched himself at her, faster than she could have believed possible. But Evalin wasn't going to let herself be drained this time! "You were supposed to DIE!" was all he could say, over and again as he stared at her.

Jareth came to the realization that this one would not give up - he agonized over the decision for a week as Evalin tried to stay out of his way. Then one evening, just after he rose, he sought her out and brought her into his private chambers. He decided that would be the night he would change her, and she would be his companion in the Hell of eternity. Obviously, Evalin had other plans...
